The Chicago Bears app has a unique feature that is all heart.
The club took something that matters (please, don't drink and drive for your own safety) and made saying "yes" to it take literally less than ten seconds, along with a small token of appreciation at the other end.
Open the Bears app on gameday. Confirm you're 21 or older. Pledge not to drink alcohol at the Bears home game and to provide safe transportation home for your group. Accept the terms. Tap Submit. That's it.
๐ป Your thank-you from the Bears shows up immediately: a free Dr Pepper soda or bottled water loads right into your Scan & Pay wallet inside the Bears app.
๐ป Now, head to any Soldier Field concession stand during that home game, to scan and redeem your tangible thank-you.
๐ป One pledge per home game, tracked in the app. Complete with a thank-you gift.
๐ป You're also entered for a chance to win the Designated Driver of the Game, including a $50 gift certificate to be used at the Bears Online Pro Shop.
Simple, powerful, thoughtful, intentional.
Your phone, your Bears app, your pledge, and a water/soda on the house.

That's the quiet genius of it. That genius belongs to Molly Brown, Austin Huette, and Pooja Van Dyke, who came up with the idea and built it into their app. Molly, Austin, and Pooja have launched so many innovations into their app over the last few years, but this one stands out for me as one of those rare, do-the-right-thing, look-after-people features across all of our clients and their apps.
Fan safety is the Bears' number one priority.
And the Bears digital team built that right into the app.
Bear Down. And get home safe.
