Theme nights. Fans dress up. The venue dresses up. The program guide dresses up. Well, the app deserves the full treatment, too.
Last Friday, the Connecticut Sun celebrated Pride Night, and the Sun app met that moment in style. We transformed the home screen with a single-game digital takeover tailored for the occasion, with pastel-rainbow gradients infused into cards, thumbnails, backgrounds, buttons, and special ticket offers for fans ready to be a part of the theme-night game.
Our favorite bit was the goosebumpy surprise of opening up the app. The Sun break out their custom animated splash-screen for theme nights alone. For Pride Night, the Sun app's first-stage splash morphed into a pastel rainbow gradient melting into a sunset. I could watch this animated splash-screen on repeat, no kidding. We automated the special effects of the digital takeover, from its unveiling at 12:01 AM on Friday, through the final buzzer of Friday's game, and until 11:59 PM on Friday.
One game. One night. One glorious takeover.
Everyone's welcome under the Sun.
๐ ๐ช๐ด๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฒ. Thank you, Mia Krysa, MS, for collaborating with us on this special digital takeover, and for allowing us to have this unique animated splash-screen that went with it. We appreciate you, and we love working with you on all of your theme-night takeovers.
