𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐝. 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤.
August 29, 2026.
D.C. United vs. LAFC.
7:30 PM, Audi Field.
To meet the moment, the D.C. United app went full dark-mode for it: black, red, and, yes, Talon (the official bald eagle mascot) front and center.
🔴 Access Tickets, Buy Tickets, Standings, Schedule, Roster—all one tap from the home screen.
⚫ Heading to Audi Field? The matchday tab has everything: wallet, parking, rideshare, public transit, and Report a Problem if you need it.
🔴 Tickets, covered top to bottom: single match, season memberships, premium seating, group tickets, theme nights and giveaways. Buy or manage, right in the app.
⚫ And for the youngest fans, Talon's Flock, the official D.C. United Kids' Club, right there on the home page.
Two platform touches under the hood: the app's bottom nav went fully dark too, and the app's navigation was transformed with a pill-style waistband. Here's our favorite part, though. The blackout look pushed the club's app into newer card styles and layouts, and the club now likes these new layouts enough to keep using them even after the blackout takeover reverts this week.
A one-game look that becomes a lasting upgrade.
The best digital takeovers become the standard.
Dark mode. Matchday.
Vamos United.
See red. Wear black.
👏 𝖪𝖴𝖣𝖮𝖲. Ross H., thank you so much for your collaboration on this, and for all of the creative suggestions that transformed this experience. I love that you love the layout enough to keep parts of it all season long. Thank you for collaborating with us on these digital takeovers, to keep the D.C. United app continually refreshed in design.
🎬 𝖢𝖱𝖤𝖣𝖨𝖳𝖲. Aislinn Keenan, Monica Crowsey for the digital takeover. Ana Baskinger for the 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 graphic.
