The Anaheim Ducks turn their app into a Wi-Fi concierge.
Every fan wants Wi-Fi. Every venue wants fans on their Wi-Fi.
The Anaheim Ducks app integrates directly with the SSID of the Honda Center’s Wi-Fi network. When a fan arrives at the arena, the app detects whether the fan’s device is connected to the OCVIBE network. If it is not, a sponsor-branded “Connect Easily” prompt surfaces on the app, displaying the device’s connectivity status and presenting a clear tap-to-connect button. A single tap takes the fan straight to the OCVIBE captive portal, powered by Cox Business, where the fan can register for Wi-Fi access. Once the fan’s device connects successfully, the fan is returned to the app, where a “You are now connected!” confirmation message is displayed.
No hunting for Wi-Fi networks. No guessing the SSID. The app knows. The app informs the fan. The app completes (and confirms) the connection.
YinzCam’s underlying app segmentation identifies connected and unconnected fans from within the Ducks app. The segmentation enables differentiated in-app journeys for fans, based on their device’s Wi-Fi connection status.
