𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐁𝐕𝐀 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭.

Liga MX Femenil is now Liga Femenil BBVA—new name, new identity, new competition format. Following the Campeón de Campeonas, the new Liga Femenil BBVA officially kicks off the 2026 Apertura on July 31 with Cruz Azul vs. Atlas. The league moves away from its long-standing single-table structure. All 18 clubs will now be split into two groups of nine, with each team playing 14 regular-season matches instead of 17. The top four teams in each group will advance to an eight-team playoff to determine the tournament champion.
