Digital fan engagement for the Mexican football federation.
As Mexico 🇲🇽 takes the stage for the opening match of the World Cup today, the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol Asociación launched a completely redesigned digital fan-engagement hub in their flagship app, Mi Selección.
So many firsts here.
• The full Mexican World Cup team roster.
• The logo. The slogan. Front and center. The custom World Cup kit.
• Upcoming matches displayed consistently above the fold.
• Augmented reality face filters for fans to show their support in a personal way. Fans can try on different filters, take photos, save them to their device, and share El Tri straight to social media.
• A login promotion to unlock engagement, to make sure fans get the full personalized experience from the moment they open the app.
• A bilingual mobile user experience, with every app page and every feature in both English and Spanish, in the language chosen by the fan.
There are mini games for kids (okay, okay, for adults, too). Two brand-new games right there in the app. In one game, you get to dodge defenders, collect soccer balls, and rack up multipliers as your character runs across the screen. Or, you can head over to the Kick-Up game, where every kick builds your multiplier, up to 5x. Beat your personal score, and then do it all over again.
Mi Selección is the first mobile app on the YinzCam platform to launch our brand-new Player, Nation, and Tournament Trackers, three innovations that we built exclusively for the World Cup. The in-depth stats hub is designed to keep fans engaged for every day of the next 39 days.
And it all starts today.
